BSI signs agreement with Confederation of Indian Industry

BSI Group today signed an agreement with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) which will see the two organizations working together in the area of standards and best practice.

The agreement, signed in Bangalore by Frank Post, Group Communications Director, and Mr. SK Kakkar, Head, CII Institute of Quality, follows cooperation in several areas, including food safety standardization, sustainability and information security management.  New work areas between the two organizations will include exchange of best practice in the standards development arena to benefit Indian businesses.

BSI’s involvement in India is longstanding, with BSI Management Systems currently employing 100 people across ten offices.  As well as the Confederation of Indian Industry, BSI British Standards has worked closely with the Bureau of Indian Standards and the Quality Council of India, sharing information and promoting international standardization.  

Frank Post, said, “This agreement is an important step for both BSI and the Confederation of Indian Industry.  BSI already provides support for a wide range of products including quality, environmental management, and health and safety and we look forward to using our expertise to support the membership of CII and standardization in India.”
